This Week's Events

Week one was great!!! I am excited to see what the year holds for us here at MMS! Here is the week's calendar:

Mon., 9.14-

8th Grade Girls Soccer travels to Toppenish

Tues., 9.15-

7th Grade Football travels to Toppenish

8th Grade Football plays Toppenish at home

Wed., 9.16- Early Release @ 12:35

Volleyball takes on East Valley at home

Girls Soccer takes on Selah at home

Thurs., 9.17-

Cross Country travels to Wapato

Open House, 5:30-7:00

Smart/Meta Glasses

Please note that smart glasses (eyewear equipped with integrated cameras, microphones, audio, or display capabilities) are not allowed at school and fall under the rules associated with telecommunications policies.

We are asking families to ensure these devices remain at home for two main reasons:

Privacy & Safety: Smart glasses can record video, snap photos, or capture audio discreetly. To protect the privacy and safety of all students and staff, recording devices are not allowed in classrooms, restrooms, or common areas.
Academic Focus: Integrated displays, AI assistants, and open-ear audio create hidden digital distractions, making it difficult for students to stay fully engaged in class discussions and independent work.

Thank you for your partnership in keeping our school environment safe, respectful, and focused on learning. Please let us know if you have any questions!

Open House

This Thursday is our Fall Open House! Our Open House is an opportunity to meet your child's teachers and be able to put faces with names!

It is supposed to be a beautiful evening so we will all be in the courtyard from 5:30-7:00 to welcome you to MMS. Teachers will be stationed throughout the area (I will make sure the sprinklers are turned off this year!) and will be available to connect with you.

Your child is welcome to take you on a tour, but the classrooms will not be open just because we won't be in them! You will get to come to classrooms during conferences and see what their learning space looks like!! We just really have liked the energy and community "vibe" that the courtyard offers for this first event!

There will also be a bookfair happening in the library that you are welcome to visit!!
