As we head into November, keeping up strong daily routines is one of the best ways to support your middle schooler. Regular attendance helps students stay connected with friends, avoid the stress of catching up, stay in school routines, and keep involvement in classroom discussions and hands-on learning that can't be replicated..
November brings several schedule shifts, making every full, half, and short school day crucial for learning:
- Wednesday, Nov 11: No School (Veterans Day).
- Friday, Nov 13 (End of Q1): These final days are vital for turning in work and finishing Quarter 1 grades strong.
- Monday, Nov 16 (Start of Q2): Showing up day one sets a clear, confident tone for the new quarter and helps your student start the quarter strong.
- Early Release Days for Conferences (11/18 - 11/20): Attendance drops on early release days, but these short days are full of essential learning and review. Every hour counts!
- Thanksgiving Break (Early Release on 11.25 and No School 11.26-27 ): We will still have lots of learning happening, even with a short week. Attending keeps students on track so they can truly relax over the holiday.
When students miss half-days or short weeks, catching up can quickly feel overwhelming. If your child is facing obstacles getting to school, please reach out to us—we are always here to support your family.
Thank you for helping your student show up, stay connected, and finish Q1 strong! In the month of October we had almost 650 students with regular attendance, meaning they were here for 90% of their classes! That is an awesome month!
