March Attendance

Posted Date: 03/01/26 (09:00 AM)

As we enter March, it's a great time to reflect on how our daily choices shape our future. One of the most impactful habits your child can develop now is consistent school attendance.

Why Attendance in Middle School Matters for High School Success

Research shows that students who attend school regularly in middle school are more likely to:
  • Graduate on time: Chronic absenteeism in middle school is linked to a significantly lower chance of on-time high school graduation. PMC
  • Achieve higher grades: Regular attendance helps students stay caught up and perform better academically.
  • Develop positive habits: Consistent attendance builds routines that support long-term success.

How You Can Help

  • Encourage daily attendance: Aim for your child to miss no more than 10% of school days. Missing just two days a month can add up to 18 days in a school year, which can negatively impact learning. Attendance Works
  • Address barriers: If your child faces challenges that affect attendance, please reach out. We're here to support you and your child in overcoming these obstacles.
  • Celebrate milestones: Recognize and celebrate your child's commitment to attending school regularly. Positive reinforcement can strengthen this important habit.
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure your child's success. Together, we can help them build a strong foundation for high school and beyond.
