Healthy Youth Survey

Ellensburg School District will administer the Healthy Youth Survey (HYS)

HYS on October 13th at MMS and EHS

The survey will be given to students in grades 6, 8, 10, and 12.

The HYS is a statewide, anonymous survey that asks students about topics such as school experience, friendships, mental health, safety, and healthy behaviors. Results help schools and communities better support youth.

As in past years, our district has made the following adjustments:

Middle School: We will not add the optional gender identity question designed for the 6th grade survey.
All Grades: We have received permission to exempt students from questions on sexual behavior and sexual violence.

Participation in the survey is voluntary. If you do not want your student to take the survey, please contact your child’s school to request an opt-out. Students may also tell their teacher on the day of the survey that they do not wish to participate. Students who do not take the survey will take part in another activity.
