Dear Parents and Community Members,
It is time for the Ellensburg School District to create a new Strategic Plan to guide our work over the next three to five years. The Strategic Plan is a document used to communicate Ellensburg School District's goals, the priorities needed to achieve those goals, and metrics used to measure progress on those goals. This strategic plan will be student facing. In other words - what can we do to ensure that each of our students can capitalize upon their promise and potential as they graduate from the Ellensburg School District?
We are currently forming our Strategic Planning Committee - and that is where you come in! We need a wide variety of voices at the table to envision the future for our children and community. We are asking students, community representatives, parents, and a sample of our employees to commit to this process over a series of six, 2-hour dinner meetings, with a few weeks in between each meeting for more small-group work and time to seek feedback. Please sign up here be part of this process. At this time we are gathering names of interested individuals to make up the committee over the next week and will provide more details once we have the team.
The three-phase process is as follows:
Gather Input and Draft Components
Host six committee meetings to identify key areas of priority and improvement for the district, then draft a strategic plan.
Gather and Assess Feedback on Draft
Engaged the broader community in an approval survey and public forum to elicit feedback.
Finalize Plan and Present to Board of Directors
Incorporate community feedback into a finalized strategic plan and presented to the school board for approval and adoption.
All meetings are on a Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 PM. The meeting dates are 10/16/24, 11/13/24, 1/15/25, 2/19/25, 3/12/25, and 4/16/25.
